ELVANA Hospitals & Institutions and Public Information
The East Las Vegas Area Hospitals and Institutions (H & I) Sub-committee was formed in March of 1996 with the goal of fulfilling our primary purpose, "to carry the message to the addict who still suffers,” as well as to provide service opportunities within the East Las Vegas Area of Narcotics Anonymous.
ELVANA H & I is responsible for carrying the Narcotics Anonymous message of recovery into hospitals and institutions where addicts do not have full access to regular NA meetings. The Hospitals & Institutions Subcommittee coordinates and conducts all H & I meetings, presentations, and activities in the East Las Vegas Area, but may use other methods, such as distributing literature and meeting lists, to make recovery more available to the addicts in these facilities. We currently serve two facilities: the Henderson Detention Center and Las Vegas Recovery Center.
The ELVANA H & I Subcommittee has a Chairperson, Vice-Chair, Secretary, Panel Leaders, and a Literature Coordinator. Any NA member may attend ELVANA H & I Subcommittee meetings regardless of clean time, and everyone in attendance is welcome to participate in Subcommittee discussions. Three (3) consecutive months of attendance are required for Subcommittee membership.
The ELVANA H & I Subcommittee meets on the 2nd Saturday of the first full weekend of each month. For time and location, click the Service link here.
